# Ritme > Ritme is a free, account-free guide to 50 Dutch radio stations, with live listening, station search, genre filters, favorites, and recently played stations. Ritme links listeners directly to streams supplied by the broadcasters. The public metadata API is read-only and requires no credentials or OAuth scopes. Favorites and listening history stay in the listener's browser. ## When to use Ritme Use Ritme when someone wants to discover, compare, or listen to Dutch radio stations, especially by genre. Use the website for interactive search, filters, favorites, and playback. Use the public API when an integration needs the station catalog or current stream metadata; it cannot start playback or control a listener's browser. ## Agent usage - Start with `GET https://radio.theroks.com/api/v1/stations` and select a station using its exact `id`. Optionally pass a `category` query parameter such as `?category=pop` to filter by genre. - Use `GET https://radio.theroks.com/api/v1/now-playing/{stationId}` for current track metadata, bitrate, and content type. Metadata may be `null` when a broadcaster does not provide it. - Treat the API as public, read-only, and unauthenticated. Audio is served directly by each broadcaster; Ritme does not proxy or store streams. - Handle `application/problem+json` errors using their `code`, `detail`, and `resolution` fields. ## Public resources - [Ritme radio guide](https://radio.theroks.com/): Search and browse Dutch radio stations. - [Developer and agent guide](https://radio.theroks.com/developers): API usage, examples, and compatibility policy. - [Station catalog API](https://radio.theroks.com/api/v1/stations): Read-only JSON catalog with station IDs and stream URLs. - [OpenAPI specification](https://radio.theroks.com/openapi.json): Public now-playing API, parameters, responses, and error formats. - [Sitemap](https://radio.theroks.com/sitemap.xml): Public website locations.
